In the Constructor Merchant Center, create a Searchandising Campaign and set the trigger (keyword, category, or segment) it should activate for.
Use the dashboard or the Merchandising Rules API (POST /v1/rule) to define rule actions: boost a set of products matching specific attribute values, or bury them to the bottom of results.
To pin specific products, use the 'Position' action and assign an explicit slot number; pinned products take precedence over all other ranking signals.
Optionally scope campaigns to specific indexes (useful for multi-locale or multi-brand setups) — the 2025 update allows a single Searchandising Campaign to span multiple indexes.
Validate by issuing a test search query in the Constructor Results Preview within the dashboard; confirm pinned products appear at the specified positions.
Known gotchas
Searchandising rule changes are applied in near-real-time but may have a short propagation delay; allow a few minutes before testing in production.
Conflicting rules (e.g., two campaigns both boosting the same product for the same query) are resolved by campaign priority — verify priority ordering when multiple campaigns overlap.
A/B testing Constructor's searchandising requires setting up an experiment within the platform; changes deployed outside an experiment immediately affect all traffic.
