Documented steps

  1. Get the app name and the target Machine ID: `fly machines list -a <app>` (IDs look like `9184d21c9e6888`).
  2. Resolve that one machine's 6PN address via `<machine_id>.vm.<appname>.internal` from any device on the 6PN (another Machine or a WireGuard-connected laptop).
  3. Use the returned IPv6 address as the destination for your client (curl, psql, ssh, a database driver).
  4. To address a group instead of one machine, use `<process_group>.process.<appname>.internal` (all machines in a process group) or `<region>.<appname>.internal` (machines in one region).
  5. To target machines by custom metadata use `<value>.<key>.kv._metadata.<appname>.internal`.
