Steps

  1. For inspection/license records dated before March 27, 2025, use the legacy public lookup at secure.lni.wa.gov/elevatorlookup, which covers the last three years of inspection history statewide except for Spokane and Seattle.
  2. For records from March 27, 2025 onward, use the current ALiS-based public lookup the legacy tool now redirects to: aliswalni.aithent.com/ALiSWEB/PublicLicenseSearch?IsPublicSearch=Y&licType=B — this replaced the old backend when L&I's Conveyance Management Portal (CMP), built on the Aithent ALiS platform, went live March 26, 2025 at 8:00 AM PDT.
  3. Remember the same jurisdiction carve-out applies to the new tool: Spokane and Seattle run their own independent elevator inspection/permitting authorities (their own AHJ), so conveyances in those two cities will not appear — contact each city's building/inspection department directly instead.
  4. If you need to transact business (apply for a permit, pay an invoice, manage an Annual Operating Certificate) rather than just look something up, sign in at lni.wa.gov/CMP via My L&I / Secure Access Washington instead of using the public lookup tools, which are read-only.
  5. If you're a contractor or property manager registering in the Portal for the first time, have your UBI number and contractor license number ready; Washington's Department of Revenue Business Lookup tool can supply your UBI if you don't already have it.
  6. For CMP login or portal-usage issues (as opposed to lookup-tool issues), contact L&I's dedicated CMPTraining@Lni.wa.gov mailbox rather than general elevator-program support.
