Steps

1. For each target country, retrieve the local hiring guide and required tax configuration fields via GET /rest/v2/eor/validations/{country_code}
2. During contract creation, include the required tax fields for the worker's country (e.g., tax identification numbers, residency declarations, applicable tax treaty claims)
3. After contract activation, use the payslip API to verify that the correct tax regime is applied: GET /rest/v2/eor/workers/{worker_id}/payslips and inspect tax line items
4. For countries where Deel requires employer tax registration, follow the in-platform compliance workflow — the API alone does not initiate entity registration
5. When a worker's tax situation changes (e.g., change of residency, tax treaty election), update the contract via the appropriate Deel endpoint and obtain a new signed contract
6. Retain payslip records with tax breakdowns for a minimum period consistent with each country's statutory records retention requirements
