Steps

  1. Register an account on Open Charge Map and obtain an API key for authenticated write requests.
  2. Build a POI submission payload describing the site (location, operator, connection types, power levels) per the submission schema.
  3. Call the submission endpoint on api.openchargemap.io with the API key in the X-API-Key header (or key query parameter) to create or update a station.
  4. Use submitComment to add a check-in/comment and submitMediaItem to attach a photo to an existing POI.
  5. Monitor submission status, since new or edited POIs typically go through moderation before appearing in public query results.
