Documented steps

  1. In the service settings choose to add a custom domain and enter the wildcard form such as *.example.com
  2. Collect the two CNAME records Railway returns (one for the wildcard and one for _acme-challenge) plus one TXT record
  3. Add both CNAME records and the TXT record at your DNS provider
  4. If using Cloudflare, enable Universal SSL and set the encryption mode to Full
  5. Wait for ownership validation and the automatic Let's Encrypt certificate issuance
