Determine whether Generac Mobile Link exposes a public API for pulling residential standby generator status, and find what integrators actually use instead

Steps
Search Generac's official site and support.generac.com for published API/developer documentation for Mobile Link — none exists as of mid-2026
Note that third-party integrations (Home Assistant, Homebridge, openHAB) reverse-engineer Generac's website JSON endpoints and session-cookie auth rather than using a documented API
Be aware Generac added a CAPTCHA to its login flow around August 2025, breaking the scripted username/password logins these unofficial integrations relied on
Current unofficial workaround requires manually logging in via browser and extracting a session cookie rather than automated credential login
For any production integration, contact Generac directly or use dealer-tier tools (PWRfleet, Mobile Link FLEET) instead of scraping the consumer app
Known gotchas
Do not present the reverse-engineered endpoints as a stable or supported API — Generac has already broken it once (Aug 2025 captcha) and can do so again without notice
Mobile Link also covers generators resold under Honeywell, Eaton, and Siemens badges — same backend, same lack of an official API
