Steps
Identify each column splice location on the erection drawings and confirm whether a splice plate, erection seat, or diaphragm plate is detailed to temporarily support the upper column section during alignment.
Provide a safe means of access to the splice elevation (e.g., a personnel platform, ladder attached to the column, or aerial lift) rather than free-climbing the column to reach the splice.
