Steps
Submit the access-request form at openapi.ing.carrier.com to join the Carrier Open Access Alliance Program, covering Carrier Infinity and Bryant Evolution/Connex residential systems only.
After acceptance, receive the Open Access Alliance Program Agreement plus OAuth 2.0 client credentials.
Obtain an OAuth2 access token from https://sso.carrier.com once the homeowner grants your registered app account access to their system.
Call the Infinity/Evolution Open API (documented via the hosted Swagger UI at openapi.ing.carrier.com/swagger) to read system status and post setpoint/mode changes.
Track usage against the program's monthly query allotment (historically ~85,000 queries/month per member interface); unused queries do not roll over.
Known gotchas
This is a vetted partner program, not instant self-serve — expect a questionnaire/agreement step before receiving credentials.
Scope is Carrier/Bryant residential (Infinity/Evolution) only — do not assume it covers Carrier commercial rooftop equipment or other brands under the same parent company.
Monthly query quotas are shared per member interface and don't bank unused calls — design for rate-limit handling.
