Steps

  1. Create/validate an Address resource for the number's location against the MSAG database (US/Canada) via Console or the Address API.
  2. Associate the address to the phone number and enable emergency calling so calls route with E911 (address + caller ID passed to the PSAP).
  3. Without a registered address, calls route to a national emergency call center instead of the local PSAP and incur a per-call emergency fee.
  4. Dial 933 from the registered number to confirm the number and address Twilio would send on an emergency call.
  5. To change an address, disassociate it, wait (30 min US/Canada, up to 72 hrs UK), then associate the new one.
