Request SpotHero partner API access and obtain your API key and partner ID from the SpotHero partner team.
Call the facilities search endpoint with latitude, longitude, search radius, start time, and end time to retrieve nearby parking facilities and available rates.
Parse the response to extract facility ID, rate ID, price, and amenities (covered, EV charging, ADA accessible) for display to the user.
POST a reservation request with the selected facility ID, rate ID, vehicle details, and user contact information; include your partner ID in the request.
Receive the reservation confirmation including a barcode or QR code payload and entry/exit instructions; deliver these to the user.
To cancel, call the cancellation endpoint with the reservation ID before the cancellation deadline specified in the rate terms.
Known gotchas
Spot inventory is real-time; a facility shown as available during search may sell out before the reservation POST completes — handle the sold-out error and prompt re-search.
SpotHero rates often include a non-refundable booking fee; parse the fee breakdown and display it clearly before the user confirms to avoid disputes.
Partner API access is gated; endpoint paths in official sandbox docs may differ from production — verify against the partner documentation provided at onboarding.
