Documented steps Run mc anonymous set POLICY ALIAS/BUCKET, where POLICY is one of none, private, public, download, or upload. For read-only public download access (e.g. a static site), use download: mc anonymous set download myminio/mybucket. For full public read/write use public; for write-only use upload; private or none removes public access. For a custom IAM JSON policy, use mc anonymous set-json policy.json ALIAS/BUCKET. Verify with mc anonymous get ALIAS/BUCKET.
Known gotchas Policies that enable anonymous access let anyone on the network/Internet reach the bucket without authentication — do not use them for private data. Valid policy values are exactly none, private, public, download, or upload. Setting an anonymous policy is equivalent to attaching a bucket policy; it overrides the prior anonymous setting on that bucket.
